Welcome in 2008 to the Championship Website of the Byte Class International Association. More and more, competitors, friends, families and supporters look for up-to-date information both before and during the major Continental and World Championship regattas of the Class. It is often hard to find and, sometimes, does not exist if the local Organizing Committee has not built a Website for the event or does not have current information on its own site. The Websites that are built are usually done by hardworking volunteers, in their spare time, but we cannot expect them to be the really comprehensive presentation that is now looked for. The first use of this site was at the Bermuda World’s and it changed all that. The second use was at the Sizzler CII World Championship in Pattaya, Thailand and these two sites are still active but Bermuda will be archived at the end of the year.
This is a database-driven Website that is available to Organizing Committees who have access to the site to build and manage their own event within the template we have established and without the need to reinvent the wheel. Competitors also have direct access to the site, through their password, to update or edit their profiles stored in the database. Once they are members of the site, that membership remains in effect indefinitely.
It was designed and developed by Paul White, one of Montreal's leading sailors, with the assistance of Ian Bruce, the Byte's designer and with the ongoing support of the NA builder, PS2000 Inc. |
